My name is John and I am an artist specialising in Linocut prints..

I am based in Kinsale, County Cork and create my Linocut prints from my studio at home. 

Linocut is a printmaking technique in which a sheet of linoleum is used as a relief surface. I create my unique designs usually from a photograph on tracing paper,transfer it onto the linoleum and then carve the mirror image of the design into the surface. The 'negative' uncarved areas are then inked with a roller and then printed onto hand made paper to create the final image. Due to the colour and amount of the ink used each print I make is unique.
